Indonesia: PKPU and PPI Japan to open free school in Neuhen

Banda Aceh, Indonesia-Relief -- The Pos Keadilan Peduli Ummat (PKPU, Justice Post for Ummah) starts seeking Acehnese to become teachers for its new free elementary school in Neuhen village, subdistrict of Mesjid Raya, Aceh Besar. The Islamic school will be opened next July, but the school building will be totally completed in August.

''The school building, with six classroom, is being constructed and 20 % percent completed. But we will open it in mid-July in compliance to all schools seasons,'' said Ahmad Firdaus, head of PKPU Educational Program on Friday. He added that the school building construction is fully funded by Indonesian Students Association (PPI) in Japan. ''They have transferred Rp 991 million to build the school,'' said Firdaus.

The Islamic laboratory schools, which will become part of Dayah Al Ikhlas (an Islamic boarding school) in Neuhen, will implement competency-based curriculum, that will accommodate local or Aceh culture. The school will receive new student as well relocated student, from first grade one to sixth.

The student will pay no tuition fee. ''The school will be provided for free,'' said Firdaus. Parents are invited to register or transfer their children to the new school at its secretariat in Dayah Al-Ikhlas: Jl. Laksamana Malayati, KM.14, Neuhen Kecamatan Masjid Raya. Aceh Besar.

PKPU is still seeking teacher and staff to manage the schools. Acehnese with university background in Education, Economics, and Counseling are invited to bring or send their application to become the school principal, general teacher, and counseling teachers to PKPU Office in Jl Banda Aceh - Medan Km 8,5 Lambaro, Aceh.© dil
