Following the series of landslides caused by heavy rainfall and unstable soil conditions that occurred on 7 July in a gold mine located in Tulabolo village, Bone Bolango regency, Gorontalo province, northern Sulawesi Island, central Indonesia, the humanitarian impact is increasing.
According to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB), the number of fatalities reached 23 people while 30 are still missing, and 143 others have been affected by the events.
National and local authorities deployed 1,002 personnel in the search and rescue operations.
For the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with localized thunderstorms is forecasted across Bone Bolango regency.
