Indonesia – Landslide, update (BNPB, BMKG) (ECHO Daily Flash of 28 January 2026)

  • The death toll continues to rise after the massive landslide triggered by heavy rainfall on 24 January in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua sub‑district, West Bandung Regency, West Java province.
  • According to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB), after four days of search operations, 48 people have been confirmed dead, and more than 30 people are still missing.
  • National and local authorities are still conducting rescue and emergency operations.
  • For the next three days, cloudy skies with light rain are expected across the affected regency.
