On 13 November, a landslide struck Majenang district in Cilacap regency, Central Java, Indonesia, resulting in fatalities, displacement, and widespread damage.
As of 18 November, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported 18 confirmed deaths, with five people missing. Rescue teams have recovered 23 individuals, including 11 injured, while 58 others required medical treatment, with additional three hospitalised due to illness at the evacuation site. A total of 383 people are sheltering in temporary facilities after 16 houses collapsed. One ha of agricultural land was affected.
Ongoing search and rescue efforts face significant challenges due to poor weather conditions and the persistent risk of further landslides.
Over the next 48 hours, additional light to moderate rain is expected across Central Java.
