Indonesia - Landslide (ADINet, BMKG) (ECHO Daily Flash of 30 January 2025)

  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting northern Indonesia since 29 January, triggering landslides that have resulted in casualties and damage.
  • As of 30 January, according to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), one person died, 45 people have been displaced, 115 people have been affected by a landslide that occured in Tarakan City in northern-eastern North Kalimantan province. In addition, two houses have been destroyed and 22 partially damaged.
  • On 30 and 31 January, more heavy rainfall is still forecast over north-eastern Indonesia.
