Highlights
• President Prabowo Subianto visits disaster scene again and meets key government ministers on 7 December 2025.
• As of December 8, BNPB reported that the number of displaced had reached 1,054,912 people.
• The death toll has reached 961 in 52 affected districts/cities in the three provinces. A total of 293 people are missing.
• It is estimated that house damages in the three provinces has reached 157,900 units. At least 1,200 public facilities were damaged including 497 bridges, 32 dams, 4,359 irrigation areas, 218,223 livestock, 425 houses of worship, 234 buildings/offices, and 207,498 hectares of rice fields, plantations and ponds
• In health sector, 192 health facilities were affected, including 65 hospitals, 309 health centers (251 already in operation, 58 not yet operating).
• In the education sector, a total of 1,060 education units were affected in Aceh, in North Sumatra 1,155 and in West Sumatra: 583. In addition, 22,419 education personnel and 238,305 students were affected.

Situation Report
• On December 7, President Prabowo Subianto monitored disaster emergency response at field again in Aceh and chaired a limited meeting with the Governor of Aceh, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the Minister of State Secretary, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Social Affairs, the Minister of Housing and Residential Areas, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Minister of Public Works, the Minister of Home Affairs, the Minister of Health and the Cabinet Secretary as well as the commanders of the National Police, Army, Navy, Air Force and PLN. Indonesia continues to look to national resources for emergency response and has not requested for international support.
• BNPB, in its report as of December 8, recorded that the number of people displaced has reached 1,054,912 people, and 293 people were missing. In Aceh, 994,771 IDPs/260,620 families were spread across 1,976 refugee points; in North Sumatra, 42,207 IDPs/10,339 families, and in West Sumatra, 17,934 IDPs were spread across 114 points. The number of affected people in Aceh was recorded at 1,940,250 people/478,900 families and in North Sumatra, 1,578,015 people/420,649 families.
• In health sector, 192 health facilities were affected, including 65 hospitals, 309 health centers (251 already in operation, 58 not yet operating). In the meeting, the need for around 300 doctors and the potential for diseases affecting people affected by the disaster were conveyed, namely diarrhea, Acute Respiratory Tract Infection, and skin diseases. It was also conveyed that priority assistance is for pregnant women and dialysis patients.
• In education sector, it was reported that a total of 1,060 education units were affected in Aceh, 1,155 in North Sumatra, and 583 in West Sumatra. In addition, 22,419 education personnel and 238,305 students were affected.
• In the meeting with the President, BNPB conveyed the Ministry of Public Works' estimate of the funding needed for rehabilitation and reconstruction in Aceh, amounting to Rp. 25.41 trillion in North Sumatra of Rp. 12.88 trillion, and in West Sumatra of Rp. 13.52 trillion.
• The improvement of the electricity network problem in Aceh is targeted to be completed at 100% by December 8; in North Sumatra, it is already 99.9%, except for two villages, Tukka Village and Sorkang Village. In West Sumatra, the power grid has been restored to 100%.
• In Aceh, the mobile network was stable on December 8, with no interruptions, indicating that 15 of the 18 affected districts/cities were well connected. Areas with cellular interruptions but connected via WiFi are in five districts/cities, namely Central Aceh, Bener Meriah, Southeast Aceh, Gayo Lues, and Aceh Tamiang (although the primary connection currently uses WiFi Internet. In North Sumatra and West Sumatra, communication lines in disaster-affected areas have been 100% restored.
• On December 8, it was reported that the clean water network problems in Aceh are in AcehTamiang, Langsa City, East Aceh, North Aceh, Lhokseumawe City, Bireuen, Pidie Jaya, and Bener Meriah. Water tank cars are deployed to these areas. In North Sumatra, the condition of the PDAM network ranges from 20-100% in Central Tapanuli (35%), Sibolga (75%), South Tapanuli (90%), North Tapanuli (20%), Langkat (65%), Mandailing Natal (100%), and Nias (50%). In West Sumatra, water needs are in 21 sub-districts in 7 city districts (Padang City, Tanah Datar, Mentawai Islands, Padang Pariaman, Agam, South Coast, and 50 cities.
• For fuel and LPG, it was reported that in Aceh Tamiang, 3 out of 7 petrol stations were already operating, and four were under repair. For Langsa, East Aceh, North Aceh, and Pidie, 100% of petrol stations are operating. Banda Aceh and the western part of Aceh are 100% normal. The restoration of access for Bener Meriah, Central Aceh, and Gayo Lues is still underway, with fuel being sent by air.
