Indonesia - Floods, update (BNPB, BMKG, ADINet, NOAA-CPC) (ECHO Daily Flash of 13 December 2024)

  • Java island, central western Indonesia, continues to experience heavy rainfall that caused floods and resulted in casualties, population displacement and damage.
  • The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reports two injured people, 22 displaced and almost 250 affected people by floods in Semarang city, Central Java province. Moreover, in Sukabumi Regency, West Java province, almost 3,500 people have been displaced, 20,629 affected and more than 5,500 houses were damaged or heavily damaged following recent floods.
  • For the next 24 hours, moderate to locally heavy rainfall is forecast across most of Java.
