Indonesia – Floods in South Sulawesi and earthquake in eastern Indonesia (DG ECHO, government, PDC, AHA Centre) (ECHO Daily Flash of 09 June 2020)

  • Floods have been reported in parts of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. More than 1,870 people have been affected, at least 20 people have been displaced, and at least 245 homes have been damaged. Those areas affected, include Luwu and Sidenreng Rappang.
  • An earthquake with a magnitude of revised 5.8, struck off Indonesia's eastern province of Maluku. The quake struck at 11.56 a.m. with the epicenter at 126 km southwest Buru district and the shallow at 10 km under sea bed. The intensity of the quake was felt in some parts of Ambon. There is no tsunami warning issued and there are no injuries, material damage reported. On 4 June, over 100 houses were damaged when a 6.8 M quake struck off nearby North Maluku province.
