Heavy rainfall affected central Indonesia, in particular, the Kalimantan island over the period from 11 to 13 May, triggering landslides and causing floods that have resulted in casualties and damage.
The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reports, as of 16 May, four fatalities, three people missing, four displaced, 21 affected people, and six damaged houses across the Samarinda regency, East Kalimantan province, due to a landslide event that occurred on 12 May.
In addition, across the aforementioned regency, ADINet also reports two fatalities, a total of more than 10,400 affected people and nearly 3,300 affected houses due to floods that occurred in the same period.
Over the next 96 hours, more heavy rainfall with locally very heavy rainfall is still forecast over the whole Kalimantan island.
