Floods, landslides, and strong winds have been affecting the provinces of central Sulawesi, north Sumatra, north Maluku and east Java, resulting in fatalities and damage.
According to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB), a landslide caused ten deaths in Java on 3 April. As of 7 April, BNPB also reports that 15 people were affected in Sumatra, 115 housing units in Sulawesi, and 100 houses were affected in Maluku, where residents evacuated independently.
Over the next 72 hours, more rainfall is forecasted over Indonesia, with very heavy rain over the islands of Borneo, Sumatra, Sulawesi and western New Guinea.
