Heavy rainfall has continued to affect northern Indonesia since 29 January, causing flooding that has resulted in casualties and damage.
According to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB), as of 31 January, three people died due to flooding, two in Sambas regency in West Kalimantan province, and one in Kendal regency in in Central Java province, and more than 41,080 families have been affected by floods, including 26,000 families in South Kalimantan and 12,564 families in West Kalimantan, as the most affected provinces.
Over the next 48 hours, more heavy rainfall is still forecast over Indonesia, with locally very heavy rainfall over the south-western part of the country.
