Heavy rainfall affected central and eastern Indonesia, in particular, the Maluku islands, and Sulawesi island over the period from 18 to 21 June, causing floods that have resulted in population displacement and damage.
The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reports, as of 23 June, two fatalities, two missing people and nearly 8,700 affected people across the Pohuwato regency, Gorontalo province, Kalimantan island. ADINet also reports one fatality, one injured person and over 14,900 affected people in the Halmahera Selatan regency, North Maluku province.
Over the next 48 hours, more heavy rainfall is still forecast over the Maluku islands, and Sulawesi island.
