BNPB informs residents to always be alert from floods and landslides. Increase rainfall in early June 2017 was triggered by the movement of atmospheric waves along the equator known as the Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO). It is predicted that the waves will continue to spread to the eastern part of Indonesia for the next five days, triggering an increase in rainfall in central and eastern Indonesia. In addition to triggering heavy rain, this phenomenon causes the emergence of strong wind potential in the areas of South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara and Maluku. The Ministry of Social Affairs provided Rp 3.47 billion for the flood victims.
