PMI Central Java Province Crisis Center reported, flash flood hit Kudus Regency on Sunday morning, yesterday (02/06/2011). Flash floods hit eight districts in Kudus, Central Java.
More detail, areas affected by flash flood are Hadiwarno Village, Jojo, Mejobo, Tenggeles, Kesambi, and Golan Tepus Village in Mejobo District; Sadang Village, Pladen, Bulung Kulon, Bulung Cangkring, and Klaling Village in Jekulo District; Sidorekso Village, Kedungdowo, Gamong, Papringan, and Mijen Village in Kaliwungu District; Karang Rowo Village in Undaan District; Megawon and Ngembal Rejo villages in Jati District; Menawan Village in Gebog District; Soco Village in Dawe District; and Singocandi Village in Kota District.
Until Monday morning (07/02/2011), floods are still inundating three villages, namely Sadang Village, Jekulo District and Jojo Village and Hadiwarno in Mejobo District. Latest News from PMI Central Java Province Crisis Center, the water height now, ranges from 30 cm to 1 meter. Rain that occurred on Mount Muria to this day remains a threat because it will lead to increase the water volume of Piji River and Dawe River. Two damaged dams in the Hadiwarno village still in the being fix.
"The water height varies, ranging from 50 cm to 2 meters. PMI Kudus Regency mustered 10 personnel and an ambulance unit to help the evacuation, assessment, and standby monitoring the conditions in the disaster area. Now, a team of PMI volunteers are still doing data collection on disaster impact, "said Ali Masyhar, one of the Disaster Management Staff of PMI Central Java Province directly from PMI Central Java Province Crisis Center, on Monday (02/07/2011).
Based on data from local government, the flash floods in Kudus drown hundreds of houses and damaging dozens of houses. All personnel of PMI Kudus Regency are on standby 24 hours to monitor the flash flood conditions.*
