Indonesia - Earthquakes (GDACS, USGS, BMKG, BNPB) (ECHO Daily Flash of 11 April 2025)

  • An earthquake of 5.5 magnitude at a depth of 35 km occurred on 10 April at 7:53 UTC (16:53 local time) in South Papua Province, eastern Indonesia. The epicentre was located about 73 km south-east of Agats town (South Papua Province).
  • USGS PAGER estimates that up to 1,000 people were exposed to strong shaking. There are no initial reports of casualties or damage due to this event.
  • Moreover, on 10 April at 15:16 UTC (22:16 local time), another seismic event of 4.1 magnitude occurred in Bogor City and caused minor damage to 14 houses, as registered by the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB). Also in this case no casualties have been recorded.
