Indonesia - Earthquake (GDACS, USGS, ADINet, BNPB) (ECHO Daily Flash of 08 July 2024)

  • An earthquake of 4.6 M - 4.4 M as reported by Indonesian national authorities - at a depth of 10 km occurred offshore 5 km north to the northern coast of Central Java province, on 7 July at 7:35 UTC (14:35 local time). The epicentre was approximately 9 km north of Batang city, Batang Regency.
  • The seismic event was felt quite strongly in Batang Regency, Pekalongan Regency and Pekalongan city.
  • According to the National Agency for Disaster Countermeasure (BNPB) and the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), at least 12 people have been injured and more than 200 have been affected. Moreover, five houses were totally damaged and 346 were partially damaged.
