AHA Centre Flash Update #2: Earthquake In South Java

SUMMARY OF EVENT

  1. AHA Centre Disaster Monitoring & Response System (DMRS) triggered “WARNING” alert for a Magnitude 6.9 Earthquake on 15-Dec-2017 23:47:57 (UTC +7) with epicenter located 7.75 South, 108.01 East, at a depth of 105 Km (BMKG).

  2. Indonesian BMKG initially activated tsunami warning (ALERT for 2 municipalities & ADVISORY for 8 municipalities) in south of West Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta, which was “CANCELLED” on 16-Dec-2017 02:26 (UTC +7) and no tsunami occurs.

  3. Indonesian authorities (BNPB, local government BPBDs and related agencies) are still assessing the full extent of impact and damages.

  4. At this point, the earthquake caused low humanitarian impact & there is no indication of request for international assistance.

  5. AHA Centre will release additional update, subject to significant development from the ground.
