Tsunami response through June 14, 2005

June 14 2005 - BBF received a generous inflow of cash and gifts-in-kind donations beginning in December 2004 following the tsunami. These projects including the building of schools and clinics in tsunami affected areas. Brother's Brother greatly appreciates your donations, please continue to help us help others.

January 1 - June 15 2005 - BBF helped ship over 3,780,000 pounds of requested food, building, medical and other supplies. Supplies were sent to India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka. These shipments are the equivalent of 114 tractor trailer loads. March 2005 through June 2005, BBF allocated $996,000 in grants to support the building of a school and a water system in Sri Lanka. BBF also facilitated the purchase of ambulances, a fishing boat and supported an amputee-rehabilitation project in India. Also receiving funding was school renovations and a child health assessment project in Indonesia. This work was done in cooperation with S.V. Temple, H.J. Heinz Co., Heinz Company Foundation, Mylan Laboratories, Global Pharmaceuticals, Sri Lankan American Association of Western Pennsylvania, Helen Keller International, Rotary Sri Lanka and Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust.
