The remnant of the Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘Gaja’ which lay as a deep depression over interior Tamil Nadu yesterday morning moved west-southwestwards and further weakened into a depression over central Kerala by 1730 hours IST of 16th November 2018. It then moved nearly westwards, emerged into southeast Arabian Sea at midnight and intensified into a deep depression over southeast Arabian Sea at 0530 hours IST of today, the 17th November 2018. Further moving westwards, it lays centred at 1130 hours IST of 17th Nov. 2018 near latitude 9.8 N/ 73.2 E about 50 km west-southwest of Kalpeni, 110 km south-southeast of Kavarati and 150 km south-southeast of Agatti.
