RAINFALL/FLOOD SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY

♦ Yesterday, the southwest monsoon was Vigorous over Odisha and active over Vidarbha & Chhattisgarh.

Rain/thundershowers occurred at most places over Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand; at many places over Odisha, West Bengal & Sikkim and coastal Karnataka; at a few places over Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and east Madhya Pradesh and at isolated places Over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam & Meghalaya and Vidarbha. Weather remained dry/mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The amounts of rainfall (4 cm or more) recorded at 1730 IST of yesterday were: Jharsuguda­8; Narsingpur & Mahabaleshwar­7 each; Keonjhargarh, Hirakud, Bhawanipatna and Karipur­5 each and Pendra Road, Behrampur & Titlagarh­4 each.

• There are 06 Moderate flood situation sites in the country on 22.07.2014.

DEPLOYMENT OF NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE (NDRF)

44 teams consisting of total 1768 personnel of NDRF have been deployed in Assam - (5), Tripura – (1), Mizoram – (1), West Bengal-(2), Sikkim – (2), Odisha – (3), A&N – (1), Maharashtra – (3), Karnataka – (1), Rajasthan – (1), M.P. (1), Himachal Pradesh –(2), J & K-(4), Uttarakhand- (6), UP -(4), Bihar (4), Jharkhand –(1), Tamil Nadu(1) & Parliament House(1).
