RAINFALL/FLOOD SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY

Rainfall occurred at many places over Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Gangetic West Bengal, Rayalaseema, Karnataka and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and at one or two places over Assam & Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, south Gujarat, Marathwada, Konkan & Goa and Kereala. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 0800 hours IST of Today were: Pudducherry-6, Carnicobar-4, Porbandar, Noncowry, Nagapattinam, Kakinada, Gannavaram and Belgaum-3 each, Atiramapattinum, Tiruchchirapalli, Cuddalore, Kavali, Portblair, Tirupattattur, Tadong, Uluberia, Panagarh-2 each, Gangtok, Ongole, Chitradurga, Anantapur, Karaikal, Dharamapuri, Hutbay, Salem, Vellore and Vedaranniyam-1 each.

• Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal Tamilnadu & Pudduchery and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

• Rain/thundershowers would occur at a few places over interior Tamilnadu, Kerala, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and Lakshadweep.

• Rain/thundershowers would occur at a few places over Telangana during next 24 hours and increase thereafter.

• Rain/thundershowers would occur at a few places over Odisha, West Bengal & Sikkim northeastern States.

• Rain/thundershowers would occur at one or two places over Bihar, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh during next 48 hours and at a few places thereafter.

• Rain/thundershowers would occur at one or two places over Jammu & Kashmir from tomorrow onwards.

• Weather would be mainly dry over rest of the country.
