Situation Report -7: Flood Incident in Uttarakhand 17th July, 2013

After four weeks since the disaster has hit Uttarakhand, many villages are still inaccessible through roads. The immediate needs like food are available for next 15 days in these areas which was provided by Government and supplemented by humanitarian agencies. Livelihoods has been badly impacted in affected villages, required the development of plans and strategies for short, medium and long term support for recovery of livelihoods.

The Honorable Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Mr. Vijay Bahuguna called a meeting with the NGOs responding in Uttarakhand on 16th July, 2013 (minutes of meeting attached separately). The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted rainfall at many places in Uttarakhand. The IMD is issuing special forecasts for the Char Dham region which can be accessed at:
