• Himachal Pradesh continues to reel under the impact of the ongoing monsoon season, with a cumulative death toll of 78, including both rain-related incidents and road accidents.

• According to official data, 50 fatalities have occurred due to cloudbursts, flash floods, landslides, and electrocution, while 28 deaths have been linked to traffic accidents triggered by adverse weather conditions.

• The financial toll of the disaster is also significant, with estimated damages amounting to ₹541.09 crore. Massive losses have been recorded across infrastructure, residential property, agriculture, and livestock.

• In total, 10,168 animals and birds have perished—including 10,000 poultry birds and 168 cattle—adding to the distress in already vulnerable rural communities.

• The district of Mandi remains the worst-affected, with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) confirming 14 fatalities and 28 people still reported missing. According to the Deputy Commissioner, Mandi, the subdivisions most severely impacted are Thunag, Karsog, Gohar, and Dharampur.

• Damage to private property is widespread. At least 225 houses have been damaged, many of them completely destroyed and uninhabitable. In addition, 243 cowsheds have collapsed, and 214 heads of cattle have been lost. Commercial damage includes seven shops destroyed and 14 bridges washed away or rendered unsafe, severely impacting local transportation and market access.

• Transport infrastructure across Mandi has also suffered extensively. As of 5:00 PM on July 6, 184 roads remain blocked, including two national highways, disrupting mobility and access to relief operations. The electrical infrastructure is heavily affected, with 182 distribution transformers (DTRs) out of service. Water supply has also been severely impacted, with 158 water supply schemes reported as non-functional as of the latest update.

• Between July 5–6, a cloudburst in Seraj Valley led to the destruction of multiple footbridges and at least one motorable bridge, further isolating already inaccessible rural areas. While no new casualties were reported in this incident, several hamlets sustained heavy losses in agriculture and infrastructure.

• Media reports estimate that approximately 80,000 people have been affected in the Seraj region alone. Around 150 homes were completely destroyed, and an additional 400 homes were partially damaged. Hundreds of cattle have also been lost in this sub-region. Moreover, the Himachal Cooperative Bank in Thunag, which serves nearly 8,000 people, has sustained severe damage—its first floor has been gutted, and the vaults have been flooded.

• Agriculture and horticulture have also taken a massive hit, with thousands of hectares of cropland damaged.

• In Dharampur sub-division, 27 houses have been fully damaged, with 11 houses partially damaged, and approximately 76 cattle deaths have been reported from the area.
