Assam

• Incessant heavy to very heavy rainfall and rise of water levels in rivers have created a flood-like situation in some districts of the Assam

• A total of 29 districts in 3,535 villages and 2,396,648 people have been affected by the flood during the last 24 hours.

• Moderate to heavy rainfall reported in some districts of the State during the last 24 hours with an average rainfall of 11.8 mm.

• As per the Central Water Commission (CWC) bulletin, the Brahmaputra River and 10 other rivers are flowing above their danger levels in the State.

• A total of 2,934,293 people have been affected during the current flood, with 78 human lives lost so far.

• Dhubri continues to be the worst hit with 754,791 affected people, followed by Cachar with 177,928 people affected, and Barpeta where 134,328 people have been hit.

• A total of 68,768 hectares of crop area was affected during the last 24 hours.

• A total of 293 relief camps have been opened, accommodating 53,429 inmates.

• Another 361 relief distribution centers are also functional, providing essential items to 315,520 people.

• A total of 3,331 houses have been reported damaged (209 fully and 3,122 partially) during the current flood.

• A total of 214 big and small animals have been washed away by the floodwaters in the last 24 hours, while a total of 1,563,426 animals have been affected.

• In Kaziranga, 114 animals, including six rhinos, 100 hog deer, two sambar, and an otter, have died due to drowning and other causes.

• Twenty animals died during treatment, while 96 have been successfully rescued, including species like hog deer, rhinos, sambar, and others.

• The flood situation in Manipur's Imphal Valley improved on Sunday, with water receding from most areas. Water levels of all rivers, including Iril and Kongba, went below the danger levels.

• The breaches in embankments at Singjmei and Kongba Irong in Imphal East district have been repaired.

• A few low-lying areas such as Lairikyengbam Leikai, Laipham Khunou, and Kitna Panung are still under water. Paddy fields in some areas also remain inundated.

• Singjamei was the worst-hit area in the Imphal West district as the Imphal River breached the embankment at Oinam Thingel.

• The drinking water crisis has been a major issue in the flood-affected areas.

• Out of 16 districts, 12 districts were affected by the flood and landslides.

• The flood affected a portion of the State from 2nd July to 3rd July 2024, with major areas affected including Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kangpokpi, Bishnupur, and Senapati.

• In the hill districts, minor landslides have occurred in various locations, destroying crops and infrastructure due to heavy rainfall.

• The main impact of the flood in Imphal Valley is along the Imphal River, Iril River, Nambol River, Nambul River, and Senapati River in Senapati, either due to overflow, seepage, or breach of river banks.

• A total of 2,483 persons were evacuated and accommodated in 42 relief camps.

• 2 human lives lost have been reported so far during the current flood.

• A total of 12 districts, 84 villages, and 26,461 people have been affected during the current flood.

• A total of 4,981 houses have been damaged during the current flood.
