Heavy downpour is disrupting normal life in several parts of country for the last couple of days.
In Uttarakhand incessant rainfall is being witnessed for the last four days, resulting in disruption of communication on link roads.
Low lying areas of Haldwani and Haridwar are faced with the situation of water logging. However Movement of trains has resumed on Haridwar-Dehradun rail track.
All the main rivers in the State are in spate. The Ganga is flowing near the danger mark in Haridwar district. In view of the rising water level of the river, flood posts along the river have been put on alert.
Looking at the flood situation, many districts including Nainital, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Tehri and others have closed schools until Tuesday. However, schools in Dehradun as well as Champawat districts remain closed.
The Char Dham Yatra was also disrupted as heavy rain continued over the state.
In Rajasthan, heavy rains have caused death and destruction. Three persons have been killed in Karuali district which is facing a flood like situation.
In Assam, over 300 villages have been inundated in current flood in six districts. Over 76 thousand people have been affected in Golaghat district alone. Several rivers including the Brahmaputra are in spat. Jorhat District administration has set up 16 relief camps where around 4 thousand people are taking shelter.
