Significant Weather Features:
A cyclonic circulation lies over west-central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast in lower & middle tropospheric levels. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over Westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast by tomorrow.
The monsoon trough lies south of its normal position. The eastern end of the monsoon trough very likely to shift further southward due to formation of a low pressure area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast around by tomorrow.
Due to the formation of Low Pressure Area, rainfall distribution and intensity very likely to increase over Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Telangana from 12th September onwards. Isolated heavy to very heavy falls are very likely over Odisha on 13th Sept, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 12th-13th, Telangana on 13th-14th and Gujarat state on 16th September.
A cyclonic circulation lies over Eastcentral Arabian Sea off Maharashtra coast in lower & middle tropospheric levels. The east-west shear zone runs roughly along 15°N across the peninsular India in mid-tropospheric levels and likely to persist during next 3-4 days.An off-shore trough at mean sea level runs from north Maharashtra coast to north Kerala coast.
Under the influence of above three weather systems:
i) Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls, thunderstorm & lightning very likely over west Peninsular India during next 4-5 days.
ii) Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Konkan & Goa and Kerala & Mahe on 12th-13th; South Interior Karnataka on 13th September, 2020 and Saurashtra & Kutch today.
- Moderate thunderstorm with lightning very likely at isolated places over Bihar, South Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat State, South Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema and Konkan & Goa during next 12 hours.
