1 . Brief about flood situation/ damage report during last 24 hours is as under.

2 . Total 126 Teams of NDRF have been deployed across the country. State wise deployment is at - Annexure-II.

3 . Forecast:

  • India Meteorological Department (IMD)

Significant Weather Features:

  • A Low Pressure Area lies over Southeast & adjoining Eastcentral Arabian Sea with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 4.5 km above mean sea level. It is very likely to move nearly northwards during next 2 days and weaken thereafter. An east-west shear zone runs roughly along 10°N across peninsular India between 3.1 & 3.6 Km above mean sea levels. It is very likely to persist during next 4-5 days. Under its influence:

i) Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall and thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Peninsular India during next 4-5 days. Heavy rainfall at isolated places also likely over Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe and Tamilnadu during the same period.

  • Moderate thunderstorm with lightning very likely over Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, Bihar, East Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Odisha, Kerala & Mahe, Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Lakshadweep during next 12 hours.


  • Red Warning (Extreme Flood Situation) - Nil

  • Orange Warning (Severe Flood Situation)

4 . Other IncidentLandslide in Kerala Update: Landslide occurred on 07.08.2020 in Tata tea Company Pettimudi, Munnar, Kerala. 65 persons have been reported dead, 12 persons got injured and 05 persons are still missing. The first stage of searching has put to an end by the authorities because of the search of the fifth consecutive day goes in vain. Searching operation for the five missing persons will be resumed when the water level of the river will become normal.
