Himachal Pradesh in northern India is experiencing monsoon rainfall, which has triggered flash floods, landslides, and severe weather-related incidents, resulting in a rising number of casualties and damage.
According to SPHERE India, as of 7 July, 78 people have died due to flash floods, landslides, and weather-related incidents, while 28 people are still missing. Additionally, approximately 80,000 people have been affected across five districts, and 225 houses have been damaged.
National authorities and NGOs are providing emergency assistance to those affected.
On 8-9 July, more heavy rain is expected across the interested state.
