Since 18 April, a severe storm bringing heavy rains and strong wind has been affecting Tripura state in northeastern India, resulting in fatalities and damage.
According to media reports as at 23 April, two people died, two have been injured, and more than 500 homes have been damaged or destroyed. In addition, power supply was disrupted in the region.
Over the next 48 hours, more heavy to very heavy rainfall, with thunderstorms and lightning, is still forecast over Tripura state in the northeast of the country.
