  • Severe weather has been affecting India in the last weeks, resulting in fatalities and extensive damage.
  • The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs reports in the last 24 hours 23 fatalities, 30 people evacuated, a total of 33,583 affected, and 104 houses damaged across seven states, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Meghalaya, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Over the next 48 hours, additional rain with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall are expected across India, particularly in the north. Authorities have issued a red alert in selected parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Odisha.
