India - Severe weather and floods (NDMIndia, IMD) (ECHO Daily Flash of 19 June 2025)

  • In recent days, flood events triggered by heavy rainfall have been affecting parts of western India - including Gujarat, West Bengal, and Rajasthan - resulting in casualties and damage.
  • According to the National Disaster Management Authority of India (NDMA), 15 people have died, more than 1,000 people have been evacuated, and 428 houses have been damaged in Gujarat state.
  • Over the next 24 hours, moderate to locally heavy rainfall is expected across western India.
