Over 40 persons from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh died in the past 48 hours, with Himachal Pradesh having the highest death toll with 18. Delhi’s rivers are flowing above the danger level and people have been evacuated from low lying areas. There are also report of 17 deaths in Uttar Pradesh due to lightening in past 48 hours.
