A dust storm and very strong winds, accompanied by hailstorms and rainfall, affected northern India, in particular the Delhi city area and the National Capital Region (NCR), over 21-22 May, causing severe weather-related incidents (mainly due to the dust storm and strong wind) that have resulted in casualties and damage.
Media report, as of 23 May, three fatalities, 11 injured people, and a number of damaged infrastructures and closed roads across the aforementioned affected area.
Over the next 48 hours, strong winds, thunderstorms and lightning are still forecast over the already affected National Capital Region (NCR).
