Delhi has seen unprecedented flooding in its Northeast, East, and North districts due to the continuous rise in the Yamuna River since 12 July, which has flowed above the highest flood level. On 14 July, the water level has slightly lowered, but is still flowing above the high flood level.

25% of the city’s water supply is impacted due to the closure of three major water treatment plants. Flooding at the interstate bus terminal disrupts public transportation to and from other states.

About 23,600 people have been relocated to safer locations in Delhi. People have also moved to upper floors with concerns for their supplies of food, clean drinking water and other essential items. Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) is providing relief support to people evacuated in relief camps.

Non-essential government offices, schools, and colleges are closed until 16 July, people are advised to work from home.
