The flood situation in Uttar Pradesh remained grim. Over 24 lakhs people in over 3,000 villages are affected in 25 districts.
While More than 57,000 people have taken shelter in relief camps. Several rivers are flowing at the danger mark in the eastern and Tarai regions.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to provide financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the next of the kin of those killed due to floods on priority basis. He has also asked them to conduct a survey to assess the loss of houses in affected areas.
CM Yogi will conduct an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in Ballia and Azamgarh districts today. He is currently camping in Gorakhpur.
