CMMB emergency relief in India

CMMB is responding to an urgent request for assistance from its partners in India, where a devastating earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter Scale struck the whole of Western and parts of Northern India at 8:45 a.m. January 26. CMMB has sent an initial Emergency grant of $25,000 to be used for the local procurement of needed medical supplies and medicines. CMMB currently is preparing an emergency airlift which will be sent upon receipt of assessments and specific requests from our partners in the field.
With an epicenter in the state of Gujarat, this was the strongest earthquake to hit India in the last 50 years. Estimates of the death toll are now in excess of 20,000 as rescue teams continue their search.
