Heavy rainfall affecting 7,500 people in Atlántida Department: The Permanent Commission of Contingencies (COPECO) reported that at least 7,500 people have been affected by heavy rains due to the passage of a cold front in the department of Atlántida. A red alert has been maintained for this department. There are reports that many people have become isolated in the communities of Urraco, Esparta, Jutiapa, and La Ceiba. Furthermore, 44 houses have been affected; the numbers will continue to increase. Accumulated rainfall reached average values of 150-200 mm near the coast and 300 mm in the mountains near the coast.
