Plan has distributed 9,000 school kits in Jacmel, southeast Haiti, as part of its emergency efforts to help communities hit by the hurricanes that swept across the country in August and September.

An estimated 180,000 children and their families have been affected by the storms.

Helping children return to a sense of normalcy is paramount after disasters such as the floods throughout Haiti. The school kits will help children to continue their education by providing basic learning materials such as notebooks, pens, pencils, set squares, compasses and rulers.
