New Spanish aid flight to Haiti

18/01/2010. The Spanish Government, through the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, is to send an additional aid shipment to Haiti.

This shipment, together with the one being sent at the same time from Panama with the collaboration of the Government of El Salvador, makes a total of thirteen aid flights undertaken by the Spanish government to the population affected by the earthquake since the start of the humanitarian aid operation.

This new shipment from Spain, which comprises a total of 15 tonnes of humanitarian aid, is scheduled to leave the Torrejon de Ardoz Airforce Base (Madrid) for Port-au-Prince at 13:00.

The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation personnel in the field is coordinating the reception and distribution of the aid received from Spain, as well as the rescue and medical teams sent to Port-au-Prince
