The Netherlands sends new humanitarian aid flight to Haiti

On Monday 18 January at 12:00, a chartered flight departed Schiphol airport for Haiti, carrying around 30 aid workers and emergency relief goods.

The passengers include staff from Wereldkinderen, the Nederlandse Adoptie Stichting (the Dutch adoption foundation), Dutch Interchurch Aid, the Immigration and Naturalisation Service and the Rapid Deployment Consular Support Team (SCOT) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The flight is expected to arrive in Port-au-Prince at 13:00 local time and fly back to the Netherlands later that same day. The aid workers will attempt to evacuate the approximately 100 Haitian children that have already been adopted.

Yesterday, the president of Haiti agreed to these children's evacuation to the Netherlands.
