Macedonian Government to donate US$100.000 for Haiti quake victims

Financial assistance in amount of 100.000 US dollars will be sent by the Government of Macedonia for the victims of Haiti's devastating earthquake.

Government spokesman Martin Martinoski told reporters that in addition to this decision, the Government has also decided to offer medical team to join international medical crews that are currently operating there. As a result, the Ministry of Health is in charge to contact international organisations, such as the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, etc, to offer the assistance. Macedonia's medical team, which might include three to five members, could be sent as soon as necessary information are obtained.

- With this decision, the Government of Macedonia is once again demonstrating its solidarity with countries hit by grave natural disasters regardless of where they are, said Martinoski.

Recently, the City of Skopje announced that it will send financial aid worth Euro 25.000 for the quake victims in Haiti.
