Highlights

The transition from US Military to commercial handling at the port and airport is complete, and a change in system and capacity at both locations can be anticipated.

Customs / Border Crossings

It has been established that for the declarations now requested at the border for goods entering Haiti via Santo Domingo, one form can list multiple truckloads as long as it is accompanied by the proper documentation including a bill of lading, packing list, etc. This applies even to split shipments as long as each convoy has copies of the required paperwork. The originals can then be submitted at the time of final customs clearance through a broker.

A brief detailing the registration procedure is being drawn up and will be disseminated.
