Liberian Government announces US$ 50 thousand for Haiti quake

Government has announced it is contributing fifty thousand United States Dollars to the Caribbean state of Haiti following a devastating earthquake there.

The Cabinet took the decision to contribute to the worldwide humanitarian efforts in its regular meeting, Friday.

An information ministry release says Liberia and Haiti have a relationship that goes far back to the founding of the Liberian state.

Over fifty thousand people reportedly died in the earthquake which struck Haiti on Tuesday.

Survivors are homeless and struggling to find food.
