Rabat - HM King Mohammed VI has decided, following the massive earthquake that hit the Republic of Haiti on January 12, to grant an emergency humanitarian aid to the disaster-tricken Haitian populations.

"This national emergency aid, worth one million dollars, includes medical and pharmaceutical supplies and will be airlifted as soon as possible," a statement of the Foreign ministry said.

In these painful times, the Moroccan people offer their heartfelt condolences and feelings of sincere compassion to the Haitian people and hope that they will overcome this hard ordeal and promptly resume a normal life, the statement added.
