On 30 November - 2 December, heavy rainfall hit the Grand-Anse department, western Haiti causing floods and severe weather-related incidents that resulted in casualties and damage. Jérémie city was the hardest hit where nearly 80% of the municipal territory has been flooded.
According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), two people died and 13 others were injured in Jérémie. Moreover, two people were reported missing in the Dame-Marie commune. Furthermore, a total of 60 people have been displaced and 160 others have been affected across the department.
On 4-5 December, moderate to locally heavy rainfall is forecast over the impacted department.
