HIGHLIGHTS
• From August to October, parts of southern Haiti, including Sud, Sud-Est, Grand'Anse, and Ouest, experienced significant rainfall deficits, likely leading to water stress and disruptions in agricultural activities. Meanwhile, northern and central regions received rainfall closer to average.
• Rainfall patterns showed notable spatial and temporal variability, with a dry August affecting parts of both the south and north, partial recovery in September, and mixed conditions in October with dry patches in the south and heavy rainfall in the north.
• Although two major hurricane systems did not directly impact Haiti, they contributed to above-average rainfall in the north during October and across the entire country in early November, potentially causing waterlogging and affecting crop health.
• Wetter-than-usual conditions are expected to continue through late November and early December, potentially harming crops during their maturation and harvest phases, increasing the risk of crop losses.
