  • Between 8—20 October, WFP has reached 173,100 people with 1,150 mt of food.

    • WFP is starting to receive distribution reports from some partners, such as Samaritan’s Purse and Mission of Hope, who have combined their own food resources with WFP.

    • WFP has dispatched 2,500 mt of food from warehouses in Gonaïves, Cap-Haïtien and Port-au-Prince.

Situation Update

  • The Emergency Food Security Assessment (EFSA) reveals that 1.4 million people are in need of food assistance—of which 806,000 people need urgent food assistance.

    • Torrential rains flooded parts of Les Cayes on 21 October, which temporarily hampered movements from the Les Cayes logistics base. However, truck movements resumed later in the day. Overall, road access continues to improve along the main routes to Les Cayes and Jérémie, while remaining limited in more remote areas.
