Haiti is still facing important humanitarian needs with close to 520,000 people living in camps, a cholera epidemic that so far claimed the lives of 7,000 people and a situation of food insecurity affecting more than 45 per cent of the population. Other risk factors include Haiti’s high level of vulnerability to natural disasters, particularly during the rain and hurricane seasons from April to November.
