This report was prepared by OCHA Haiti in collaboration with humanitarian partners. It contains the latest available information as of 7 November 2022.
HIGHLIGHTS
● In the last seven days, suspected cholera cases increased by 14% and cases are now confirmed in eight of the country's ten departments.
● The Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) authorised the submission of a request for 1.8 million cholera vaccine doses.
● Insecurity around the main ports and national roads drastically limits the entry of imported goods in Haiti and the free movement of goods and people throughout the country.
● The increase in violence is causing large movements of populations who seek refuge in makeshift sites, living in undignified conditions, exposed to cholera and sexual violence.
● While the situation in Haiti has prompted most countries to halt repatriations, the Dominican Republic claims an escalation of expulsions in November.
● The UN and government launched a US$145 million Cholera+ Flash Appeal to provide life-saving assistance to 1.4 million people in the most affected areas.
