This report is an update to the one published on 30 March 2026 (ETT 88), following displacement caused by armed attacks that occurred from 28 March 2026 in the Artibonite department. These incidents primarily affected the localities of Jean Denis and Pont Benoît, located in the 1st communal section of Bas Coursin I, in the municipality of Petite Rivière and later spread to other localities, including Pont-Joux, Petit Bois, Grand-Bois and Camatin in the 3rd communal section of Ogé located in the municipality of Dessalines as well as Lakulture in the 1st communal section of Villars, in the same municipality. These events also caused preventive displacements from the locality of Pont Sondé, located in the 5th communal section of Bocozelle, in the municipality of Saint-Marc.
Approximately 8,954 individuals (2,307 households) were displaced as a result of these attacks. The majority (80%) sought refuge with host families, while 20 per cent settled across 14 sites, including five that had already existed prior to these incidents and nine newly established following these events. In addition, one site was closed after IDPs who had been hosted there fled following these attacks. DTM continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
